a). Ebays purpose is for e-commerce (shopping). Ebay is a unique E-Commerce website because they offer the ability for the audience to sell things they don't want, this creates a marketplace that is solely orientated around the audience.This is different to websites such as amazon because amazon is a retailers market place rather than a user marketplace.
b). A visitor would go to the eBay website to look at things they may be interested in buying. The viewer would then navigate the site using the navigation bar or the search bar to find the specific product. If the visitor is then interested in buying the product they could then simply click the buy it now button or actively bid on the item.
c). The Ebay website has many different ways to get around, one way is the homepage trends section that shows both recent and popular trends that people are interested in, this could lead the visitor to either viewing products from the trend or even creating one there self. Another way to get around on the site is to use the drop down box, this drop down box allows the user to simply find the category that the product is in and browse through similar products. The best way to navigate however is to use the navigation bar to find specific products easily and quickly.
d). The eBay website has many different features built into it. The first most notable feature is the slider on the top of the homepage, this denotes the advertising of other parts of the website. The eBay website also has lots of boxes to contain the different trends that are put onto the homepage, the design of this helps connote a desire to be formalised. The header of the eBay website is very small as the layout has been design to divert attention to the slider. The footer of the eBay website shows all the contact information, buying and selling information and also the legal policies.
e). Ebay's website is beneficial to the user as it provides access to an online market where they could buy or sell used items that otherwise wouldn't be available. The website it beneficial to the producer as the producer doesn't have a retail store anywhere other than the website, so the website is the producers only source of income.
